Julie and her parents Ian and Gay Rabone founded Weetalabah Gelbvieh Stud in 1999, after preparing cattle for Steve Sullivans, SJ Stud at Warrumbungle with the purchase of a female from his dispersal sale. Since then females have been purchased from Norolle at Millmerran, Glenisa Stud, Glen Aplin and Glendale Gelbvieh stud, Serpentine WA.

The Gelbviehs are run under the same guidelines as the Herefords. Focusing also on quiet temperaments, structural soundness, easy doing, neat compact udders, high milk, medium framed, soft females.

Sires have been sourced using purchased semen for AI purposes as well as natural bulls both bought and bred.

Currently Weetalabah runs approximately 25 - 30 head of Gelbvieh females. Bulls have been sold at Emerald Ag Grow, Toowoomba Ag Show, at the Brisbane Exhibition, as well as at the National Gelbvieh Sale.

Weetalabah recently purchased Norolle 2R Emperor E95 by RID R Collateral 2R bred by Alison and Clyde Johnson for $9,000 at the 2011 Qld. Gelbvieh Sale.
